COPPER TOP TABLE - SHELLY’S DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
Shelly wanted a 60” x 48” oval. It is an interesting oval form, almost a round, and clever. She is easily able to get six ample place settings around the copper table, two on each side and one at each end.
It was quite a trick to bend the 1 1/2” tubular iron to fit the table. The iron worker, with great effort, got as much bend as he could. The table top was supposed to have a 1” overhang. We ended up with a 1/2” overhang which actually adds to the finished design.
On the left are the two color samples Shelly decided on. The black for the base; the antique copper for the copper top. Excellent, very modern look.
Below are photo approval photos for Shelly’s copper table top dining table, and hand-forged iron table base.
NOTE: When the final photo approval photos were taken, the table top was not mounted securely on the table base. The table top substrate had not yet been painted so the table top was not attached to the base. The visual imperfection was not noticed until we saw the final photos in their actual size, and by then it was too late to retake the photos. The table had been crated. Be assured that when the table top was properly attached, the fit was perfect.
