Hammered Copper Dining Table Top – 127” x 48” x 2.5” — mounted on a trestle style wood table base stained in a dark walnut finish. Note how beautifully the Color Copper Muted patina accentuates the rock fireplace. Up to twelve people could sit at this copper top dining table. COPPER TOP TABLE - WHITNEY’S DESIGN REQUIREMENTS:
Whitney is an interior designer. Her client was building a new home. They wanted a new dining table that could seat up to 12 people. The rug and chairs had already been ordered when Whitney contacted us for a copper top table. The length of the rug limited the length of the copper table. Whitney initially thought a 140” long copper table top would work with the rug. Alas, the rug was too short and we had to figure out how to make a 127” copper table top length work for 12 place settings.
The chairs required 27” width per chair allowing for 2” on each side of the chairs which is not much. We modified the table base to allow for four place settings per side to fit between the trestle legs, and added an oval shape at each end of the table allowing for two place settings at each end. This gave a total of 12 place settings. And for smaller groups, the place settings could be 34” wide allowing for three place settings on each side (total of six place settings) and with one place setting at each end, 8 total place settings. Bottomline, with such a large table, there is some versatility.
